Why Is Health Insurance So Important?

Everyday you hear more and more talk about health insurance and the importance of carrying insurance on yourself and your family. With the rising cost of health care and medical insurance there are many people that feel they don’t need insurance because it’s too expensive and they’ll be fine without it. Even though most everyone understands the importance of having insurance once you start getting older and you’re having health issues, there are still many young healthy people that view it as a waste of money.

These people believe that since they very seldom see the doctor or since they’re not on any type of regular medication, they don’t need to pay for this coverage. They feel that it’s costing more than what seeing a doctor would cost in the long run but this couldn’t be farther from the truth. The problem is that you never know when something serious might happen and when it does, you need to be prepared.

Once you get sick, have an accident or if you end up with some unexpected medical problem, it will be considered a pre-existing condition and most insurance companies won’t pay for any condition that you already had before you took out the policy. All insurance companies have different rules regarding pre-existing conditions and some companies may deny you completely if the condition is serious. When you do find a company that will accept you, it will cost you much more.

The bottom line is that everyone should have health insurance regardless of their age or what type of health they’re in at present time. Without good health, you don’t have anything. You won’t be able to work, take care of your family, play with your kids, have a social life or do any of the things that make life worth living.

If you get sick or injured and you don’t have insurance to cover your medical expenses, the cost can be shocking. It can cost thousands of dollars to treat simple illnesses and when something serious occurs, you may not even be able to get proper treatment if you don’t have insurance to cover the expenses.

Health insurance is one of the most important things you’ll ever pay for. Health care can be very expensive and even with insurance you’ll have deductibles and co-pays to take care of. However, this amount doesn’t even come close to what you’ll pay without insurance. If you think that you can’t afford health insurance, ask yourself what you would do if you or someone in your family got really sick or had an accident. How could you afford to pay the bills then?

Having health insurance provides peace of mind because you never know when something will happen and if you’re not prepared, it could ruin you financially. You could end up losing your home, vehicle and everything else you own due to the enormous medical bills. What’s even worse is the fact that you might not even be able to get the care you need. As you can see, everyone needs health insurance to protect themselves and their families from unexpected events.
